AB-005 Copper Houghton County, Keweenaw Peninsula, Michigan 5.8 x 5.5 x 3 cm. A suberb example of arborescent crystalized Copper. AB-007 Malachite Shaba, Zaire 3.9 x 5.6 x 2.7 cm A
spectacular botryoidal Malachite stalactite. This specimen
AB-029 Smithsonite Villa Ahumada, Chihuahua, Mexico 7 x 5.5 x 3 cm. A classic example of botryoidal Smithsonite from one of the lesser known Mexican Smithsonite localities. When was the last time you've seen a Villa Ahumada Smithsonite? They just aren't out there. Sure, there are plenty of Mexican Smithsonite apecimens to be had, almost all of them are of average quality at best. The price gap between the really good looking specimen & the run of the mill specimens is quite large. Here you have a quality Mexican Smithsonite from a rare location at an affordable price. This lavender colored specimen features a satin-like lustre & looks even better in person.
AB-038 Sulfur Steamboat Springs, Washoe County, Nevada 5.2 x 3.7 x 3.6 cm. An excellent example of this native-element from the world's longest and most geologically complex geothermal area in the world. Specimens from this location were once quite abundant. However the days when you could collect these specimens are now long past. This location is on private property & is now closed to collecting.
AB-022 Cobaltoan Calcite with Malachite Kolwezi, Western area, Shaba, (Katanga), Zaïre 6.5 x 4 x 2.8 cm. Several spherical raspberry colored Cobaltoan Calcite crystals on drusy Cobaltoan Calcite with a coating of dark green malachite crystals make for an interesting specimen. The contrast between the 2 colors make for a very aesthetic specimen.
AB-055 Pyrite on Galena Reynolds County, Missouri 8 x 4.4 x 4 cm. A better than average example of this combination of Sulfide minerals. This specimen features a Galena that has an almost mirror like luster on most of it's faces with a stalactite-like cluster of Pyrite crystals aesthetically perched on the rear portion of the galena. The Galena has a small portion of the rear corner absent. whether this is a natural cleaveage or due to damage I'm not sure. One thing that I am sure of is that this specimen displays well and would make an excellent addition to anyone's mineral cabinet.
AB-033 Azurite Seabra, Bahia, Brazil 5 x 6 x 4 cm. When it comes to minerals specimens from Brazil one tends to think only of the pegmatite minerals of which there seems to be a never ending supply. Brazil has also produced many other minerals of a quality that is equally as good as the better known pegmatite species. This showy specimen with a mound of Azurite rosettes to 1.3 cm is an excellent example of this.
