AB-040 Rhodochrosite Bad
Luck Pocket, Main Stope, 2 x 2 x 1.6 cm. This well formed rhombohedral crystal was found in August of 1992. Most of the contents of the pocket were totally destroyed when an attempted shot went amiss. Hence the name " Bad Luck Pocket". Only some very good thumbnails & a few miniature sized specimens survived this mishap, Making this specimen a true rarity.
AB-035 Cuprite Mashamba
West Mine, Kolwezi, specimen
size = 3.5 x 3.5 x 3.5 cm. This region has long since stopped producing these classic, important Cuprite specimens. The main crystal has a slight metallic luster and shows flashes of red near the top of the crystal.
AB-048 Wulfenite on Limonite Red Cloud Mine, La Paz County, Arizona 2.8 x 2 x 1 cm. A classic twinned Wulfenite crystal aesthetically perched on just the right amount of matrix. I don't know about you, but I am weary of seeing Red Cloud specimens that are 80-90 % matrix. This perfectly proportioned specimen has a fine color and has some clarity to it. This specimen was recovered in 1997. This would make a fine addition to any thumbnail collection.
AB-050 Wulfenite Red Cloud Mine, La Paz County, Arizona 2.5 x 1.9 x .7 cm. An
excellent thumbnail specimen of
AB-051 Wulfenite Red Cloud Mine, La Paz County, Arizona 2.1 x 1.6 x .8 cm. A
jazzy thumbnail Wulfenite with
AB-041 Quartz, variety Amethyst Amherst County Virginia 4 x 2.7 x 3 cm. An excellent miniature from this long defunct location. A collector is indeed fortunate to be able to acquire one of these old-timers. there are 2 miniscule dings on the termination of the biggest crystal but you really have to look to see them. (the price has been adjusted accordingly to compensate for this tiny imperfection, otherwise this could easily be a $200 specimen) In any case this is a superb display specimen and would be a great addition to any Quartz collector's cabinet.
AB-046 Hematite N’Chwaning
Mine, near Kuruman, 3 x 2.3 x 3.7 cm. A mirror finish Hematite. I had to photograph this piece without almost any light due to the fact that no matter what angle I shot it at, it would reflect everything in sight. This small miniature has a lot of pizazz for it's price.
