F-135 Fluorite with Barite $35 Rock Candy Mine, British Columbia, Canada 8 x 6 x 2 cm. This very clear, pale purple and slightly greenish Fluorite and Barite specimen is a good example from this famous Canadian mineral location. The Rock Candy Mine was discovered in 1916 by two prospectors who mistook the green fluorite found there for copper mineralization. Specimens from this mine are rarely seen these days.
F-131 Fluorite on Amethyst $225 Nasik District, Maharashtra, India 10 x 12 x 6 cm. Botryoidal Fluorite is the most uncommon crystalline form of this mineral. When this habit of Fluorite first started appearing from India, it caused quite a sensation in the mineral community. Lately it seems that the supply of this type of Fluorite is tapering off. This Geode section is comprised of a Chalcedony outer shell lined with crystals of Amethyst showing interesting color zoning and a contrasting 5 x 5 cm. globule of Fluorite. This specimen also exhibits a good cream-colored fluorescence when viewed with SWUV light.
F-132 Fluorite on Quartz $240 SOLD Nasik District, Maharashtra, India 17 x 10.5 x 4.2 cm. Botryoidal Fluorite is the most uncommon crystalline form of this mineral. When this habit of Fluorite first started appearing from India, it caused quite a sensation in the mineral community. Lately it seems that the supply of this type of Fluorite is tapering off. This specimen features a triumvirate of orbicular Fluorites that, depending on the type of lighting, can appear to vary from pale lavender to yellow. This specimen also exhibits a good cream-colored fluorescence when viewed with SWUV light.
F-113 Fluorite and Amethyst $40 Nancy Hanks Mine, Unaweep District, Mesa County, CO 6.2 x 3.6 x 1.1 cm. This richly-colored specimen of botryoidal Fluorite is quite unusual in that it forms a sandwich consisting of layers of Fluorite on the outside and Amethyst in the middle. Specimens from this remote Colorado locality are very hard to obtain.
Hardin County, IL Fluorite
F-102 Calcite on Fluorite $55 Minerva #1 Mine, Hardin County, IL 6.3 x 5.2 x 2 cm. A cluster of purple Fluorite crystals bejeweled with a plethora of gemmy crystals of the mineral Calcite. This specimen was found in the mid 1980's. Specimens of this quality are getting very hard to obtain these days as this location has been closed for many years now.
F-103 Fluorite $65 Annabel Lee Mine, Hardin County, IL 8 x 4.8 x 4.4 cm. A pair of partially etched Fluorite crystals with a thin overgrowth of purple. This specimen is much clearer in person than it appears in this photo. Good mineral specimens from this famous location are getting very hard to obtain these days.
F-104 Fluorite $45 Denton Mine, Hardin County, IL 6.5 x 7.2 x 2.3 cm. A very clear crystal of purple-blue Fluorite that has been partially etched. A really neat Fluorite specimen if you ask me. This specimen has wear on several of the corners and taking this into consideration, I have reduced the price accordingly.
F-109 Fluorite $50 Annabel Lee Mine, Hardin County, IL 8 x 5.5 x 3.5 cm. A classic bi-colored Fluorite with a good luster from the Fluorite mines of Illinois. Fluorite specimens from this location are getting hard to obtain these days now that the mines have all been closed for many years.
F-064 Calcite on Fluorite $100 Minerva #1 Mine, Hardin County, IL 9.5 x 7 x 4 cm. A very attractive cluster of bicolored Fluorite crystals with numerous scalenohedral crystals of Calcite, some of which are double terminated. The Fluorite is intact except for a small portion of the lower left rear where it has been contacted. This is also an older specimen that was found in the late 1970's.
F-062 Fluorite with Chalcopyrite $55 SOLD Minerva #1 Mine, Hardin County, IL 6 x 5 x 4.1 cm. A castle-like cluster of Fluorite that exhibits an unusual reddish-purple color that is very pleasing to the eye. The two major crystals show a hoppered growth and have numerous Chalcopyrite crystals embedded in their faces. The upper crystal shows signs of being rehealed on the rear. Much more attractive in person.
F-036 Quartz on Fluorite $100 Annabel Lee Mine, Hardin County, IL 9 x 7.1 x 4.8 cm. Another "chunky" Fluorite crystal. This one is a multi-colored Fluorite dusted with drusy Quartz. This specimen is undamaged, just a little dissolved.
Elmwood Mine, TN Fluorite
F-090 Fluorite and Strontian Barite $85 SOLD Elmwood Mine, Smith County, TN 6.6 x 4.8 x 3.4 cm. This specimen features 3 partially etched, clear Fluorite crystals on a base of Strontian Barite. Once abundant, specimens from the Elmwood mine are very difficult to obtain these days. Even harder to obtain are specimens that have no damage.
F-091 Fluorite (etched corner) $55 Elmwood Mine, Smith County, TN 6 x 4.5 x 2.5 cm. Of all the etched Fluorite corners that I have seen from Elmwood this is one of the most unusual ones. The upper terminations on most etched corners are slanted, while this one has a flat surface 1 centimeter from the termination, making for an unusual specimen. Now that this mine is defunct, good, undamaged specimens from this location are very hard to come by.
F-129 Fluorite and Barite $65 Elmwood Mine, Smith County, Tennessee 6 x 4.5 x 3 cm. A superb example of Fluorite that has been partially dissolved, leaving behind one cone-shaped corner. This Fluorite crystal is also flanked on both sides by tufts of Barite, making for a nice contrast of colors. This location has been closed for a number of years now and mineral specimens, especially good quality ones are getting harder and harder to obtain these days.
F-032 Fluorite $35 Elmwood Mine, Smith County, Tennessee 5 x 5 x 3 cm. A very clear pair of Fluorite crystals. This specimen is contacted on the rear and on the bottom and was very difficult to photograph. It looks a lot better in person.
Clay Center, Ohio Fluorite
F-094 Fluorite and Celestine $155 White Rock Quarry, Clay Center, Ottawa County, OH 8.5 x 6.5 x 3 cm. An extremely lustrous specimen of Fluorite crystals with blades of Celestine. The photo does not even come close to conveying how gorgeous this specimen is. This specimen exhibits a mottled white and gray fluorescence and is also phosphorescent. Specimens of this quality from this location are rarely seen these days.
F-117 Fluorite and Celestine $55 White Rock Quarry, Clay Center, Ottawa County, OH 5 x 3.9 x 4 cm. This twinned Fluorite crystal is from the recent find at this classic locality. This Fluorite crystal exhibits an intense creamy peach colored fluorescence when lit by LWUV light, emanating from within a thin crystal-clear outer layer, and a weaker fluorescence when lit by SWUV. This crystal is complete all around with contacting on the rear. This Fluorite also features several crudely formed crystals of Celestine on its bottom.
F-118 Fluorite and Celestine $60 SOLD White Rock Quarry, Clay Center, Ottawa County, OH 5 x 4.8 x 3.9 cm. This large hoppered Fluorite crystal is from the recent find at this classic locality. This Fluorite crystal exhibits an intense creamy peach colored fluorescence when lit by LWUV light, emanating from within a thin crystal-clear outer layer, and a weaker fluorescence when lit by SWUV. This crystal is complete all around with contacting on the rear and bottom faces. Another neat feature of this specimen is that the center of the front face has a hollow depression resulting from the outer edges of the crystal developing slightly quicker than the center. This Fluorite also features many crudely formed crystals of Celestine to 2 cm. on its bottom left side.
F-078 Iridescent Fluorite $75 SOLD White Rock Quarry, Clay Center, Ottawa County, OH 7.6 x 4 x 3.3.5 cm. An extremely lustrous specimen of iredescent Fluorite crystals. The photo does not even come close to conveying how gorgeous this specimen is. Specimens of this quality from this location are rarely seen these days.

F-133 Fluorite with Calcite $110 Moscona Mine, Solís, Gijón, Asturias, Spain 12 x 8.5 x 4.5 cm. A combination of gemmy yellow Fluorite and well-formed Calcite crystals. Under SWUV illumination, the Fluorite crystals show a strong, zoned, creamy yellow fluorescence offset by pale pink-red fluorescence of the Calcite crystals. In addition to its fluorescence, the Fluorites on this specimen also exhibit a phosphorescence that lasts 15-20 seconds after the UV lighting is removed. An excellent Spanish Fluorite that would be a fine addition to any collector's mineral cabinet. Fine, aesthetic specimens from this location are becoming increasingly harder to find these days.
