AH-018 Strontianite & Pyrite
with Siderite $50 Poudrette Quarry, Mont Saint-Hilaire, Québec, Canada 2.4 x 2.2 x 2.4 cm. This superb thumbnail specimen features one of Mont Saint-Hilaire's rarer carbonate minerals, Strontianite, appearing as a pale pinkish sphere indicated by the red arrow in the photo. This well-formed, 2.5-mm. Strontianite crystal is surrounded by minute crystals of the mineral Pyrite and is flanked on both sides by crystals of the mineral Siderite. The Strontianite fluoresces bright yellowish-green when illuminated by LWUV light.
AH-014 Leucophanite
and Biotite $65 Poudrette Quarry, Mont Saint-Hilaire, Québec, Canada specimen
size = 2.1 x 2.6 x 1.1 cm. This rare pegmatite mineral specimen features a seven millimeter Leucophanite crystal on a matrix of Albite. While not huge, this crystal is larger than the typical Leucophanite crystals which usually run from 2-5 millimeters in size. The label that came with this specimen indicates that it was collected by Bill Henderson in 1981.
S-063 Spinel $65 MacDonald Island, Northwest Territories, Canada 5 x 3 x 2 cm. A neat specimen from a very obscure locality in Canada's northern most regions. Although these crystals are not of gem quality, this stack of dodecahedral Spinel crystals has a good luster.
H-035 Halite $20 Mulhouse, Haut-Rhin, Alsace, France 4.6 x 3 x 1.7 cm. A slightly curved specimen of Halite ranging from colorless to light-blue to dark-blue. At one time these Halite specimens were fairly common, but are rarely seen for sale these days.
F-099 Forsterite variety Peridot $325 Sopatt, Kohistan, Pakistan 3 x 2.7 x 2.2 cm. Once quite abundant, these Peridot crystals are getting a lot harder to obtain these days. This specimen is translucent and features the classic chisel-point termination.
C-060 Corundum variety Ruby $45 Hassanabad
Nala, Hunza Valley, 4 x 1.5 x 1.1 cm. A really bizarre looking Ruby crystal from a lesser known Pakistani Ruby Location. Although opaque, this crystal is very interesting due to its segmented form.
P-033 Pyrrhotite $25 Dal'negorsk, Primorskiy Kray, Far-Eastern Region, Russia 3.2 x 2.9 x 1.7 cm. My camera had trouble with this specimen, it has a better luster in person. This specimen features many stacked hexagonal Pyrrhotite crystals which are partially coated with Chlorite.
M-017 Magnetite $40 Iron Mountain, Iron County, Utah 4 x 3 x 3 cm. When one thinks of Magnetite, the multitude of specimens available from Bolivia comes to mind. However, before the Bolivian Magnetites, the Iron Mountain district of Utah was known for its spectacular crystals, most of which were crudely formed, but measured up to a whopping 3.5 inches on edge. This very well-formed, pyramid-like cluster of Magnetite crystals was collected in the 1980's by Jim and Dawn Minette.
M-018 Mimetite $45 Santa Eulalia, Chihuahua, Mexico 4 x 3.2 x 2.2 cm. A sparkly cluster of botryoidal masses of yellow-brown Mimetite crystals. Mimetite specimens of this caliber are rarely found at this location anymore. While a small portion of the specimen has been contacted on the front face, it does not, in my opinion, take away from the beauty of this specimen although I have adjusted the price to reflect this minor imperfection.
F-108 Feldspar variety Adularia $25 Miage
Glacier, Monte Bianco 4.4 x 2.5 x 3 cm. A fine example of Adularia. This specimen features parallel growth and is majestically perched on it's matrix. The Adularia crystal has a nice luster and would be a great addition to any suite of Alpine minerals, Feldspars or any other type of collection. Specimens from this location are very hard to collect and very few make their way to the U.S.
P-021 Pyromorphite $30 Daoping
Mine, Gong Cheng 3.6 x 2.6 x 1.6 cm. A neat little toenail-sized specimen of Pyromorphite. Decent looking specimens from this location are very difficult to find these days as this location has been closed for well over 3 years now.
R-013 Rhodochrosite $30 Remedios
Mine, Taxco de Alarcón 3.5 x 3 x 2.5 cm. This cute little Rhodochrosite specimen has a vibrant pink color & when lit properly sparkles like crazy.

click on image for larger view P-002 Pyrrhotite & Siderite $35 Morro Vellho Gold Mine, Nova Lima, Brazil 3 x 3.2 cm. A great looking thumbnail from this famous location.
S-023 Stibnite & Quartz $25 Murray Mine, Elko County, Nevada 4.8 x 1.6 x .4 cm. The Murray Mine is known for having produced some of the finest Stibnite ever found in North America. This lustrous cactus-like cluster sprinkled with Quartz is a fine example.
S-024 Stibnite & Quartz $25 Murray Mine, Elko County, Nevada 4.3 x 1.5 x 1.3 cm. The Murray Mine is known for having produced some of the finest Stibnite ever found in North America, such as this cluster of blade like crystals with a jacket of drusy Quartz.
