A-042  Fluorapatite & Biotite  $60

Dassu, Shigar Valley, Baltistan, Pakistan

2 x 2 x 2 cm.

A pink double terminated Fluorapatite that exhibits a modified pinacoid termination with several crystals of the variety of Mica, Biotite.  A good thumbnail-sized specimen for the price.  Another cool feature of this specimen is that it fluoresces a vibrant yellow-orange when illuminated by SWUV light

E-008  Ernstite on Childrenite  $120

Córrego Frio Mine, Linópolis, Divino das Laranjeiras
Minas Gerais, Southeast Region, Brazil

3.8 x 2.5 x .8 cm.

An excellent example of pseudomorphism in action.  Here we have an example of the phosphate mineral Childrenite that was in the process of altering to its cousin, Ernstite.  As you know most pseudomorphs aren't all that attractive, but I think that this is an excellent, well formed example.

H-019  Hydroxylherderite  $275

Barra de Salinas, Coronel Murta
Minas Gerais, Brazil

3 x 2.4 x 1.5 cm.

To my knowledge I believe that these crystals are the first purple Hydroxylherderite specimens to come from Brazil in many years.  Previously, all I have seen were the crystals found in the mid 1970's that appear from time to time as they are recycled from one collection to another.  I purchased these from a dealer who bought the whole find, which amounted to less than 3 dozen crystals.  I think these crystals would make a fine addition to any pegmatite collector's mineral cabinet.

T-093  Topaz and Muscovite  $60

Teixeirinha Mine, Virgem da Lapa, Minas Gerais, Brazil

4 x 3 x 2.6 cm.

This dramatic etched Topaz is from the small find made in late 2004 and features a jacket of Muscovite covered with Cookeite.  I'm told that that this is the end of the road for this find.  I had to dig through the remaining dregs to find any that were of a quality acceptable enough to post on my website.

This lustrous and gemmy, etched Topaz is from the small find made in late 2004 and features a jacket of Muscovite which appears to have penetrated the upper termination of this crystal.  I'm told that that this is the end of the road for this find.  I had to dig through the remaining dregs to find any that were of a quality acceptable enough to post on my website.
