B-103  Beryl variety Aquamarine with Muscovite  $185

Mt. Xuebaoding, Pingwu, Sichuan Province, China

7.5 x 5 x 6.4 cm.

This is not your typical poker chip Aquamarine specimen that is usually associated with this locality.  This specimen features a pair of chunky Aquamarine crystals from the Tungsten-Tin-Beryllium deposits of Mt. Xuebaoding, China penetrating one another at a 90°angle.  Some of the faces of the two crystals exhibit many unusual growth hillocks and depressions. A good example of Aquamarine from a location that is all but defunct these days.

B-075  Beryl variety Aquamarine with Albite & Muscovite  $55

Huya, Pingwu District, Mianyang Prefecture,
Sichuan, Southwest Region, China

6 x 5 x 7 cm.

This specimen features a towering stack of Albite crystals with the poker-chip Beryl crystals that this location is noted for located at the base on both the front and back of the specimen.  production at this location has ceased and specimens from this location are difficult to obtain these days.

B-060  Beryl variety Aquamarine with Muscovite  $360

Mt. Xuebaoding, Pingwu, Sichuan Province, China

16.5 x 9 x 3.5 cm.

This specimen is a modern-day classic.  Once very abundant, these tabular Aquamarines from China are almost impossible to find these days as this location stopped producing several years ago.  Every crystal on this specimen is gemmy and is just incredible looking in person.  Here's your chance to get a killer Aquamarine specimen at what I consider a very fair price considering that the mine is now defunct.

B-054  Beryl var. Aquamarine  $850

Otala, Kunar Province, Afghanistan

7.6 x 1.8 x 1.2 cm.

Right out of the gate I'll say this; this is the true color of the crystal. I didn't fiddle around with the color other than to adjust it to match what the specimen really looks like.  It's color is even more striking in person.  It's been a long time since I've seen any Aquamarines from this location that have this intense hue.  Now that things are settling down in Afghanistan one can only hope that a steady supply of these spectacular Aquamarines will be available in the future.  In my opinion these are the best (other than the Emeralds of the Panjshir Valley) Beryls this country has to offer.

B-068  Beryl variety Aquamarine  $360
Double Terminated

Otala, Kunar Province, Afghanistan

6 x 1.5 x 1.1 cm.

This cigar shaped Aquamarine is double terminated and darker blue and clearer than is shown in the photos.  It is much, much better looking in person.

B-105  Beryl variety Aquamarine with Albite  $95  SOLD

Otala, Kunar Province, Afghanistan

5.5 x 1.1 x .9 cm.

This clear, double terminated Aquamarine features a striated upper termination and a jacket of Albite crystals on its rear.  When one thinks of the minerals that come from Afghanistan, Aquamarine is often overlooked.  In my opinion, Afghani Aquamarines overall are of better quality than the more common Pakistani Aquamarines which have flooded the market these last twenty years.  This well-formed crystal has a pleasing blue color with an almost colorless and chatoyant termination.

B-106  Beryl variety Heliodor  $60

Cruzeiro Mine, Santa Maria do Suaçui, Minas Gerais, Brazil

4.2 x 3.4 x 2.1 cm.

This lustrous, deep-yellow, etched Heliodor crystal is from a recent find at the Cruzeiro Mine. There were many of these specimens available, but very few of them were of a quality that met my standards. This specimen has many very interesting etch patterns with remnants of several of the original crystal faces visible.

B-087  Beryl variety Heliodor  $65  SOLD

Cruzeiro Mine, Santa Maria do Suaçui, Minas Gerais, Brazil

6 x 2.5 x 2.1 cm.

This gemmy, etched Heliodor crystal is from a recent find at the Cruzeiro Mine.  There were many of these specimens available, but very few of them were of a quality that met my standards.  The photograph does not do this specimen justice.  When you see this specimen in person you will see how much better it looks.
