Q-078 Quartz with Chlorite inclusions $75 Diamantina, Brazil 12.6 x 9.9 x 6.5 cm. This classic included Quartz specimen features multicolored Chlorite inclusions which remind me of looking into an aquarium. This specimen has much more depth to it than appears in the photos, and has to be seen in person to be appreciated. This crystal has twin terminations with a small contact (the white area near the top left of the specimen) and is in excellent shape except for a tiny ding which is hardly visible.
Q-055 Smoky Quartz w\fluid inclusions (enhydro) $195 McCurtain County, Oklahoma 11 x 5.2 x 4.7 cm. This is one of about 100 or so specimens that were found in January 1994 by John Holfert. While most of the crystals in this find show interesting crystal form, not many were found with “enhydro” inclusions. The bubble in this specimen trvererses all the way from the upper left, across the top and alittle down right of the Quartz crystal.
Q-094 Quartz variety Amethyst $35 Osilo, Sassari Province, Italy 5.4 x 4.9 x 3.4 cm. I haven't seen these for a while. These gemmy Amethyst specimens from Sardinia were abundant in the early 1990's but it has been a while since I've seen any for sale. I recently was fortunate enough to score a small lot of these right before the Tucson show. These spectacular specimens look even better in person.
Q-130 Quartz variety Amethyst $25 Capurru Quarry, Osilo, Sassari Province, Sardinia, Italy 6 x 4 x 2.9 cm. I haven't seen these for a while. These gemmy Amethyst specimens from Sardinia were abundant in the early 1990's but it has been a while since I've seen any for sale. I was fortunate enough to score a small lot of these right before the 2006 Tucson show. These spectacular specimens look even better in person.
Q-112 Quartz stalactite $20 Tleta Irhoud, Morocco 5.5 x 4.6 x 2.2 cm. This organic-looking Quartz stalactite is attached to a base of what appears to be the red cryptocrystaline variety of Quartz, Jasper. A most unusual-looking Quartz specimen from an unusual locality.
Q-132 Quartz $25 Naica Mine, Naica, Mexico 11 x 3.7 x 4.5 cm. This towering Quartz crystal was once part of a much larger Calcite covered Quartz specimen from which I removed the Calcite, leaving behind a 35 cm. crystal and this smaller one. The rear termination features some interesting growth hillocks. This Quartz crystal also features many sub-millimeter sized crystals of Chalcopyrite which are included in the front termination of the specimen.
Q-072 Quartz with Riebeckite inclusions $50 Bahia, Brazil 4.8 x 3.5 x 1 cm. These Riebeckite Included Quartz crystals are from a find from the 1970's and are a must for any collector of Quartz. They have a much better luster in person.
Q-008 Quartz “scepter xl” $260 SOLD Petersen Mtn., Washoe Co, NV 10 x 9 x 7 cm This is an unusual scepter crystal in that there were so many stages of growth that the “head” almost completely covers the “stem”.
Q-016 Quartz “scepter xl” $55 Petersen Mtn., Washoe Co, NV 7 x 5.8 x 4.5 cm Another strange one. I never cease to be amazed at the variations of scepter growth that Petersen Mountain yields. The termination of this crystal is dimpled due to an incomplete overgrowth.
Q-106 Smoky
Quartz and Microcline $35 Lolo Pass, Missoula, Montana 5.2 x 4.5 x 3 cm. This specimen features a cluster of lustrous Smoky Quartz nestled in a mound of Microcline. The Feldspar of this specimen exhibits a strong reddish-pink fluorescence. One of the Quartz crystals has a minor ding on the termination, but is not noticeable. This specimen came from a lot of specimens collected by Jim & Dawn Minette in the early 1980's.
Q-091 Smoky Quartz (Dauphiné Twin) $35 Lolo Pass, Missoula, Montana 6.5 x 1.8 x 1.4 cm. A very clear, lustrous, twinned Smoky Quartz. These specimens were collected by Jim and Dawn Minette in the 1980's.
Q-092 Smoky Quartz (Dauphiné Twin) & Microcline $60 SOLD Lolo Pass, Missoula, Montana 7.9 x 4 x 4.1 cm. A nice, chunky, twinned Smoky Quartz. This crystal features many unique growth lines and patterns on some of the crystal faces. These specimens were collected by Jim and Dawn Minette in the 1980's.
